Our judges had a really hard time picking their favourites from so many amazing entries, and their choices for the finalists were by no means unanimous, so now, in true Canadian fashion, we’ll harness the power of democracy to crown this year’s winners. We hear that some Parliamentary pets might even be gearing up their own campaigns to GOTV (Get out the vote)…
Winners will be announced at the official “Pet Gala” event on June 2nd, 2026, in downtown Ottawa.

After a month of delightful submissions from Parliamentarians, staffers, and Press Gallery members, the field has been narrowed to 15 standout finalists in both the Cutest Dog and Cutest Cat categories. Each finalist is ready to campaign for your vote with paws-itively irresistible charm and their own unique paw-licy platform.
Touted by Politico as the “Hottest Vote on the Hill”, Canadians have cast a total of 16,400 votes in the three hotly contested categories since the contest launched in 2023.
