Location: 323 Mary Street, Niagara on the Lake, Ontario L0S 1J0
Upper Canada Animal Hospital, a progressive small animal hospital, AAHA Accredited, in Niagara on the Lake is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our Fear Free Certified Team.
With so many veterinary hospitals looking to expand their practice, let me tell you what sets us apart, and why we would love to start a discussion with you.
We offer an excellent salary, starting at $130,000 per year, well above the OVMA guidelines, complete with health and dental benefits, mental health support, long term disability, uniform allowance, CVO dues and an exceptional veterinary discount for your pets. We cover your VIN membership, Lifelearn membership, and offer an annual CE allowance of $2500.
We have a very compassionate team to support you, with a doctor/support staff ratio of 1:5, including 6 RVT’s. You will work with a Veterinarian 90% of the time, and you are supported 100% of the time via phone or text by a team of veterinarians.
Our Veterinarians are scheduled 35 hours per week, with a shift of 8-4 or 10-6, working only every 3rd Saturday from 8-12. The Saturday shift is offset by a half day mid week. We are members of the Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic, enabling no on call and no Sundays!
We put a tremendous emphasis on a healthy work life balance for our team.
Our team enjoys a 1 hour lunch per day, 1 hour per day is scheduled to make client follow up calls, and multiple emergency blocks per day that are booked appropriately same day. Vaccine and examination appointments are 30 minutes, allowing time to do notes, no back up at the end of the day!
Our team is Fear Free Certified, practicing the safest and stress free environment as possible for our patients and clients. We provide complimentary Gabapentin and Trazodone for patient’s upcoming appointments and surgeries, to ensure a positive experience each and every time.
We have an exceptional clientele, and know most by first name. We build relationships and friendships. Client compliance is seldom a concern, we offer payment plans as needed, and fortunately the need for euthanasia due to finances is close to zero.
The Veterinary field can be a roller coaster of emotions. We have our days, our good days and our great days. At Upper Canada we take every opportunity to celebrate the great. Our team is family oriented, not just co-workers but friends. Monthly lunches, treats, staff outings, clinic anniversary flowers, birthday cakes, and weekly staff meetings keep us strong.
If you are looking to move to the home of wine country, green orchards, boating, bicycle trails, golf courses, restaurants and incredible people, and all the while feel appreciated and practice a high quality medicine in a supportive environment, we invite you to reach out and we can start the conversation.
