CAHI is the voice of the animal health industry in Canada. We accomplish this by addressing emerging animal care issues, and demonstrating leadership in a broad range of issues.

These include:

Meeting the needs of Canadian animal agriculture;

Supporting production of a safe, wholesome food supply, and

Helping maintain the health of our nation's food and companion animal population.

Welcome to the website of the Canadian Animal Health Institute (CAHI). CAHI is the trade association representing animal health companies that develop, manufacture and distribute animal health products.

New animal health products are approved by either Health Canada's Veterinary Drugs Directorate or Pest Management Regulatory Agency or alternately, the Veterinary Biologics Section of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). These products include pharmaceuticals, feed additives, biologicals (vaccines), and animal pesticides. The animal health industry plays a vital role in animal agricultural production and the lives of our pets. Healthy animals make great companions, and produce a healthy food supply.

CAHI member firms provide Canada's 8,000 veterinarians with safe, efficacious products approved by Health Canada's Veterinary Drugs Directorate, or the Veterinary Biologics Section of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
